Which case should I use?
- Title Case capitalizes the main words of headings and titles, while short words like “of” and “the” stay lowercase.
- Sentence case capitalizes only the first word of each sentence — the style most apps use for buttons and menus.
- camelCase and PascalCase are used for variable and class names in JavaScript, Java and C#.
- snake_case and CONSTANT_CASE are common in Python, SQL and environment variables; kebab-case is used in URLs and CSS class names.
Full-width and half-width
Chinese and Japanese text uses full-width characters that take up the same space as one CJK character, such as ABC123. Copying from PDFs, forms or old systems often leaves a mix of full-width and half-width letters and numbers. “Half-width” turns ABC123 into ABC123, and “Full-width” does the reverse and also turns half-width katakana such as カタカナ into カタカナ.
