What is lorem ipsum?
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin that designers and developers have used as placeholder text since the 1500s. Because it looks like real text but can't be read, it lets people judge a layout, font and spacing without getting distracted by the words.
Chinese and Japanese placeholder text
Latin filler is a poor test for CJK pages: Chinese and Japanese have no spaces, use full-width punctuation and break lines differently. The 中文 and 日本語 options build random sentences from everyday words, so you can check line height, line breaking and font fallback with realistic text. The text is generated on the spot and is not copied from any book or article. When you choose “words”, Chinese and Japanese are counted by characters.
