What can this do?
- Remove duplicate lines — keeps the first time each line appears and drops the repeats; turn on “Ignore case” to treat “Apple” and “apple” as the same.
- Sort lines — alphabetically, in reverse, naturally (so “item 2” comes before “item 10”), or by length.
- Clean up — trim spaces at the start and end of lines and delete blank lines.
- Shuffle — randomize the order for drawings, quiz questions or team picks.
- Add — put text before or after every line, or number the lines.
Handy uses
Clean up email or username lists, merge keyword lists for SEO without repeats, sort a glossary, turn a list into SQL values or Markdown bullets by adding a prefix and suffix, or randomize a raffle list. Sorting follows your browser's language, so Chinese and Japanese lines are ordered sensibly too.
