How to use it
Type letters, numbers or punctuation in the text box to see the Morse code; letters are separated by a space and words by a slash. To decode, type or paste dots and dashes in the Morse box. The decoder also accepts · • − – and underscores, and treats a slash, a line break or three spaces as a gap between words.
Speed and timing
Speed is measured in words per minute (WPM), based on the standard word “PARIS”. A dot lasts one unit, a dash three, the gap inside a letter one, between letters three, and between words seven. At 20 WPM one unit is 60 ms. Beginners often start around 10–15 WPM.
Tips
- Characters without a Morse code (such as emoji) are skipped and listed under the box.
- The flashing light works without sound, so you can practise reading signals visually.
- Download WAV to save the beeps as an audio file.
