How to play blackjack
Choose your bet with the chips and tap Deal. You and the dealer each get two cards; one dealer card stays face down. Number cards count their value, J, Q and K count 10, and an Ace counts 11 or 1, whichever helps. Hit to take another card and stand to keep your total. Going over 21 is a bust. When you are done, the dealer reveals the hidden card and draws until reaching at least 17 — you can set whether the dealer also draws on a soft 17 (a 17 that counts an Ace as 11). Beat the dealer's total to win the same amount as your bet; ties are a push and your bet comes back.
Blackjack, doubling, splitting and insurance
An Ace with a 10-value card as your first two cards is a blackjack and pays 3 to 2. On your first two cards you can double: add the same bet again and receive exactly one more card. Two cards of the same value can be split into two hands, each with its own bet, up to four hands; split Aces get one card each. When the dealer shows an Ace you can take insurance for half your bet, which pays 2 to 1 if the dealer has blackjack. The game uses a six-deck shoe that is reshuffled when about a quarter remains.
Basic strategy hint
The Hint button shows the basic-strategy play for your exact hand against the dealer's up card — the mathematically best choice for this rule set. Following it closely keeps the house edge around half a percent. Basic strategy never takes insurance. Your practice chips are saved on this device; if they run out, tap Refill and keep practicing.
